New Year, New You

If you are feeling like you have gained a couple pounds in the past few weeks, you are not alone.  Holiday weight gain is a real phenomenon.  Studies have shown that 60% of the average yearly weight gain occurs during the six week year-end holiday period (New Engl J Med. 2000 Mar 23; 342 (12):861-7).  Unfortunately, while many of us set out early in the year to lose this weight, most of us are not successful in losing all that we gained during those 6 weeks.  That is because the standard diet that most follow will trigger an increase in hunger hormones that at some point will become nearly impossible to overcome, and most will have quit their new diet within a month or two.

Now is an important time to work on healthy eating habits and lose that holiday weight gain.  I can assist you to do it in a way that will help you to avoid this surge in hormones, allow you to stay on track, and make persistent and continued weight loss that you can maintain.
